The API ≠ app guardrail
DataForSEO calls the vendor's API; the consumer surface (chatgpt.com, Perplexity app, Gemini web) layers retrieval, ads, personalization, and memory on top. A weekly human paste of one real-app response per (query, engine) lets us measure drift — and demote API metrics to footnote if drift exceeds 25% sustained over 4 weeks.
